I enjoyed this book a lot. I love how her books aren't quite as predictable as a lot of rom-coms. She spends a lot of time developing her main character before you get into all the relationship stuff. Highly recommend.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I love this author - her voice and style are so great. I also love the woman who narrates her audiobooks - she is perfection. Anyway, this is a Xmas book about a pantomime production and other silliness and drama along the way. I enjoyed it a lot.

Here we go again with one of those dream homes! But this time the protagonist creates it (partially) herself.

I love Emmy so much she actually ties with Ella.
I liked Scott but the way he and Emmy met after all these years was the most second-hand-embarrassment option I can think of. I respect that.
I also respect the twist regarding the romance storyline. It took me a while to come around but I did in the end.
Though I didn't care that much about the Pantomime I wasn't bored for a second because I could listen to Emmy going food shopping and I would probably find it entertaining.

What a gem of a Hoopla find. The description first intrigued me, where we follow Emmy Palmer who's a star in the biggest fantasy series on TV.

It does start off a bit awkwardly, but once past that scene the book becomes unexpectedly more. When her granddad passes at the same time that a scandal strikes, Emmy returns to her hometown where her family life is complicated, entertaining and wholesome.

The MC's thought process and quips remind me of Hannah Waddingham, with the memories of her grandad having quotes similar to Ted Lasso. During the holidays I miss my grandma terribly and I've been finding myself both chuckling and crying over these parts of the book.

Then there's heaps of behind the scenes of being a celebrity and the rom-com part is very unique and genuinely funny. The overall heart of the story really makes it a special book in this genre. I'm so excited to read more from this author.

This just might just have become my favorite audiobook of 2021.
