I never got into the show. I got as far as a few episodes into the first season. This version of the story is filled with supernatural monsters and heros we know from other stories. The story is okay. I'm mostly enjoyed the illustrations and how it moved from panel to panel.

Look, I adored the show (#JusticeForVanessa) so it was great to step back into this world and get a glimpse of the events that started this crazy journey into the Demimonde. Poor Mina.

I just wish I could have SEEN what was going on in this book better. There are dark tales, and then there are DARK tales. Like, literally - what characters were on this page? I couldn't tell you.

This was okay for an issue 1. Not a lot happened. It's a super short read and there isn't very many words. The artwork is fine, but nothing groundbreaking. This seems to be more of a novelty item for fans of the show. I received this in a horror block box and I don't think I would buy any more myself honestly. I do like the show though.

I love this show. I was excited to read the prequel. mainly because I was hoping it would mention Jonathan harker and Lucy, and it did. beautifully drawn, well written, and smoothly flows into the show.

I struggled with this one. I remember loving the show and cannot imagine why I suddenly no longer care about these characters. This may be one of those series I have to come back to and try again.

Having been not really familiar with the show, this was a good, but a little hard to understand, introduction into the Penny Dreadful world. I think that it was probably better to read if you were a fan of the show.

Really loved this prequel to the TV show.

This graphic novel shows us more information about Mina and what happened to her before Sir Malcolm started looking for her. The illustrations are awesome, it’s really easy to follow and flows really well.

I’ll happily look at Eva Green all day
