Capri 1.5 was everything. It picked up with the same energy I loved in book 1, but this time with even more fire. Capri’s growth was still on full display. She’s owning her emotions and space, but now she’s learning how to be loved back right. Her dynamic with Quameer deepens in such an intimate, real way. He doesn’t let her get away with her usual guarded ways. He checks her, challenges her, and makes sure she sees herself. That kind of emotional maturity? Chef’s kiss.
What made this book hit even harder was the balance of heat, humor, and heart. There were some spicy scenes (whew!) but also some absolute quote-worthy moments like:
“You can’t ruin something that is meant for you. I’m meant for you…”
and
“You don’t ever have to thank me, Sug. I’m here and I’m always gonna be here.”
Quameer showed up and showed out. This man really said, “Respect first, stroke second” and I loved that for us 😂
The oh-hell-nah moment? Easily the escalating tension with the outside players who think they can test Capri. Baby, this girl is not to be played with. From ride-or-die threats to pop-off warnings, she holds her own and then some. Menace energy activated IFYKYK 😤
As always, I adored the cameos from familiar Delgado favorites. It’s still family-first with Cappadonna, Capone, and the rest of the crew in the background. Brandi? Jessie? Still not feeling them and I don’t think I ever will.

I am all here for Meer and Capri's love story but the quick pregnancy and side stories are dragging it.

Bro so much going on. It’s a bit repetitive especially cause everyone has ended up pregnant.
Scenes were predictable but I’m not going to lie her introduction of all these different characters and knowing there’s other books I’m intrigued. The world continues to build. I’m wanting the best for Capri and becoming her own and holding her own for the family.

We headed to the trenches!
Things just got a little stickier, and I'm here for it! My girl deserves all the happiness in the world. But it's always somebody lurking! The author is really adding layers to these characters with every release and I'm getting sucked further into the vortex.

And Tasha has somehow come back into the picture. Crazy work, Jahquel!!! I’m contributing to fall more in love with Capri’s story and I know that with that crazy twist in the end, it’s gonna be a wild ride.

“now, i was about to give my last name up again to become capri inferno.”
that line alone? yeah… we already knew capri was in deep.
i rated this one a 4/5 because — let’s be real — y’all know how i’m coming behind big pa and suga. i’m praying this is the real thing for capri, because she deserves the kind of love she’s always poured into others. i just want her to finally feel safe, adored, and secure.
this might be her chance to step into her bag for real — use that degree and remember who tf she is. this era should be about capri choosing herself. not her mama’s guilt, not aimee’s chaos, not any man who can’t match her energy.
speaking of her mama… that woman always got something slick to say about capri, and i’m over it. she carries so much judgment for her daughter, like she forgot she got her own skeletons in the closet. kettle? meet pot.
and let’s not even get into aimee. while I understand some of her frustration, it’s clear she’s overwhelmed — and capella? he needs to tighten up. he does not carry the same emotional intelligence his daddy and uncle have when it comes to their women, and it shows.
also… tasha again?! 🙄 be serious.
💕 fave quote moments:
“you can’t ruin something that is meant for you. i’m meant for you… i don’t care how much you feel you’re not worth being loved, you are, suga.”
“don’t give a fuck about who came before me, i just know that no nigga coming after me unless he wanna get a certificate.”
“you don’t give me good pussy while moaning in my ear and think we don’t go together.”
“having your baby hair near your eyebrows is wild. you see me saying some shit about it?” 😂
