A YA novel that wasn't flawless, but I still loved? It was a very very good read, hmm. I don't enjoy YA books all that often, so I shall have to continue on with this series! I hope the others are just as good.

In the beggining, i admit i wasn't loving it. But once i got to the main action, i liked it a lot :)
The beggining is rather slow, the events, and lots of description. I get that the description is necessary, I'm just not the greatest fan.
I don't think Cassandra Clare has totally developed her talent, there were things that could be better.
I really enjoyed the characters' description and characterization, but the story itself could be better written.
But the main action is amazing and the attention to details is great, which brings reality to the story.
It wasn't my absolute favourite, I must admit.
Nevertheless, I liked it a lot and I can't wait to read the others![bc:City of Bones|256683|City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1)|Cassandra Clare|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1309277410s/256683.jpg|2267189]

I decided to revisit this old, well-liked book series from my teen years, partly because I was looking for a light read, but also because I was curious if the book had "stood the test of time" over the last eight years. And as a YA novel, I think it does! In fact, considering the vast realm of YA literature, I find it to be one of the better-written and more interesting ones. I don't know if I'm biased to the nostalgia of revisiting it, but I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a YA novel to read. The lore is unique enough for a fantasy book, the romance is fresh but not too angsty or in your face, and the characters are fun and relatable. I really don't have much other analysis to offer due to the nature of the book, but I recommend it for what it is!

LOVED the story...a mix of Harry Potter and Twilight...but I struggled with the writing...or I suppose it would be whoever edited it? If you can get past that - it was a fun story to read.
