came to love it….

Wasn’t much of a fan in the early stages but it’s grown on me and I’m really looking forward to the next part.

Since Twisted Cravings, I kind of wanted to give up on Cora's books but I feel a bit attached to the Camorra characters so I'm coming back for the second generation spinoff series. Though the quality of the stories are decreasing, Cora is smart to make the series so interrelated we can't help but read every one of them just because we completely love a couple in the series.

With the title of BSIR and the promise of revenge by the H for Luca's act in the past, I really hope for some thrill that had my blood pumping and my head go crazy for them but all I couldn't stop doing were cringe and rolled my eyes. At the start, we have Maddox 'Mad Dog' who's supposed to be cruel and ruthless, wanted the most horrible revenge for Luca, thus agreed to stage a kidnapping of Luca's daughter Marcella. But lo and behold, our ruthless H fall for the snow white princess at first glance and was on his knees adoring the princess since day one and dreaming of make her 'cream'. Somehow the word makes me think of ice cream and, yeah, cringe. Lol.

For a second generation spinoff, Luca still takes most of the limelight. I would prefer to have the focus on Amo's development instead of having him 'flipped' from a laidback teen to a ruthless brother without any real development. I just hope Amo and Greta's book will be better, though I really am losing hope, but I'm really looking forward to Remo and Nino's kids books so I'll probably come back to BSIR sequel as well in case there's any glimpse before Amo and Greta's book.

I enjoyed this story. I like the "Mafia princess and the biker" premise and the fact the MMC hates the FMC's father and wants to kill him. This dynamic is interesting and kept me engaged throughout the story. Even though the MMC wants to kill the FMC's father, he doesn't want the FMC harmed.

I liked that the FMC was strong, intelligent and loyal to her family. She acknowledged her attraction to, and growing feelings for, the MMC, but did not lose her brain in the process. I appreciate that in a Mafia romance.

This has been multiple books now that I have read by this author that I have enjoyed, but has had a large amount of negative reviews. That's not necessarily unusual, but what IS unusual is that I, again, do not understand where a lot of the negative reviews are coming from. Even if I do not agree, I usually can understand the perspective of someone who doesn't enjoy a book that I like. When it comes to this author, it's like people are reading a different book altogether. If you are thinking of reading books by this author, I suggest ignoring reviews and just decide whether the premise interests you or not. If so, read a sample and see if your interest is piqued. If I had listened to reviews of the last few of this author's books that I have read, I wouldn't have read them because reviews mentioned things that I would not have liked. I'm glad I ignored the reviews though because a lot of the things mentioned that I wouldn't have liked were misrepresented in the reviews.

I read this so fast and I don’t even know why. It was fast paced and really simple and easy to understand which made it a fun read. I didn’t really feel a deep connection with either character and didn’t think they felt one with each other either. It felt really physical and very Stockholm Syndromey which I definitely didn’t love. I did enjoy being back in the world and seeing Luca and aria cause they’re one of my favorites. So yeah it did what it needed to do.
