I think this is likely closer to 3.5 stars but that may change.
I truly don’t know how to feel about this book, overall. I really felt like this was more of a slice of life story revolving around the highs and lows of family dynamics, friendships, and navigating grief. While it wasn’t the perfect execution for me, I could still appreciate how this book made me feel a wide array of emotions.
Things I liked: the way this story is told in a meandering way, much like the characters find themselves meandering through portions of their lives due to certain circumstances. The author’s voice. How this story was really unique.
Things I didn’t like: I didn’t know enough about British culture to underhand many of the references/sayings, so I found myself quite frustrated at times. How the author wrote out “hahaha” instead of saying a character laughed or giggled or something. How this felt like a story in 3 parts, each feeling a bit disjointed.
Anyway.
The more I think about this, the more I’m fully convinced I won’t be falling on a definitive rating for a while. Not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing but who can say!

Not many 5 stars but this was a gods story, while there is always an element of predictability this one still surprised me. I really enjoyed it for this genre of book it was in the top tier.
