The love stories, big and small, are really well done in this series. You feel for both Kotaro and Nishiki and their feelings for Himemiko, requited and unrequited. Tomoe revealing how he knew that wasn't actually Nanami in her body was also great. We're getting a lot of foreshadowing for the main plot at the end of this volume.

I loved this arc! A tiny spoiler: it isn't really done in the anime, so I think that's why I like it so much. It explores the relationship of two "side" characters, and it's done so well. In the anime, since they are side characters, you can push them aside. But now that I know their arc, it seems more realistic for them to be in a relationship. Well done.

This was a good volume. I enjoyed seeing Himemiko and Kotarou get their happy ending, as well as Nanami's positive effect on the people around her, whether friend or foe. Tomoe

also finally remembered Yukiji, which is certainly going to end up being messy for his sense of self, not to mention his relationship with Nanami.
