I have mixed feelings about this volume. On the one hand, I'm overjoyed by the representation and the discussions on comparing the severity of being hearing impaired and how harmful that can be, as well as how realistic people's reactions are to hearing impaired individuals. And, of course, I'm thrilled that Kohei and Taichi are together. They are so a cute couple and I adore them!
However, I did have some gripes that kind of soured my reading experience. First and foremost, this volume was way too long. I know Fumino wanted to cram in as much story as possible, but the story dragged on because of it. I really think it would have been better if it had been split into two volumes, but I'm sure there was a reason for it. Length aside, I also had some problems with the lack of communication on Kohei and Taichi's part. I know that discussing feelings can be difficult, but Taichi nnot telling Kohei where he works or what he wants to do because it's "embarrassing" was pretty childish and caused too much unnecessary drama. Maya was okay, but again if she had just been upfront with Taichi from the start with her issues that would have solved a lot of problems. Yes, I'm sure she didn't do that because she figured Taichi was just like everyone else regarding her disability, but it still irked me quite a bit.
Complaints aside, this was a very good volume and a great sequel. It was charming, fun, and heartwarming seeing this two men get together and start a relationship. Loved it, onto the next volume!
