This was quite a bit darker than I expected. Not bad overall.

The plot seemed intriguing but was overshadowed by the barely legal age-gap (she gets 21 in the beginning of the book, he is 32). I was actually bothered by her very young age, especially at the end of the book, where we go back to typical gender roles. The characters and their relationships are flat. While very serious topics are mentioned, Mignon Mykel fails to explore these important part of the plot further and only keeps alluding to it. I know this is a romance novel but if you actually use abuse as part of the narrative than do actually call it that way, it just all seemed barely thought through. Moreover, everything happens very fast, except for the sex scenes, the plot is seldom further explained and it was really bothering me that everything took place during the course of only three months!
