Eh, it's fine. You could hear Bill Clinton's voice in 3-4 policy/political philosophy sections, which was interesting, but otherwise it was a not particularly thrilling thriller. The president is never actually missing. I couldn't stop laughing when they were coming up with ideas of how to crack the password: never was it more clear that this was written by two old men.
I read this mixed media; Dennis Quaid narrated the audiobook, and although Dennis is a great actor, narrating an audiobook doesn't win him any awards.

“Shrinking the definition of them and expanding the definition of us.”
The President is Missing by Bill Clinton and James Patterson is a solid political thriller, but it doesn’t quite live up to its potential. The story follows a U.S. president who goes off the grid to stop a major cyberattack, and while the concept is intriguing, some of the plot twists feel a bit predictable. The action is fast-paced, and there are moments of real tension, but you can often see where the story is heading, which takes away some of the excitement.
Clinton’s input adds some authenticity to the political details, but it can sometimes feel like a behind-the-scenes tour of the White House rather than a thrilling narrative. Patterson’s signature style keeps things moving, but the book lacks the surprising turns that would have made it more gripping.
Overall, it’s an entertaining enough read, but if you’re a fan of thrillers, you might find it a bit underwhelming with its obvious outcomes and familiar tropes. It’s decent but not particularly memorable.

I listened to this on audible. It was fun but a little boring / over-detailed. The dialogue seemed intentionally drawn out to force suspense.
I really enjoyed this book. It was a fast read and sucked me in from the opening chapter. Short chapters made it quick and easy to pick up and put down around the kids, and the whole plot line was interesting and believable, I especially appreciated the closer look at cyberterrorism.
It was also nice to imagine a world where the President did care about doing what was best for the country, rather than just for himself. Hopefully our next president will be back to those lines rather than the current one.
It was worth the long wait at the library hold line for this one!

It was unbelievable how relevant this book was to what is happening in the world today. So many references to events/issues of today, despite the fact that it was published in 2018! Like many of James Patterson's works, it was a gripping read, with his traditional short chapters, but it was seasoned with references to the presidency.
We often tend to forget the dangers of the digital world we live in. This book frighteningly sheds a light on a scenario that probably no one wants to see happening. And since everything happens within the course of pretty much two days there’s not much room for boredom.
I just have to say that I expected something completely different from both the book title and blurb.
