This is the first volume that somewhat flopped for me. And it's entirely because of the first third or so. The characters are having this god awful long conversation/existential debate to which Taichi is just an accessory so that the scene can even happen, and it all sucked. And then there's this completely out of pocket drawing of some of the girls in lingerie that for the life of me I have no idea why anyone said that was a good or cute idea to put into the volume. Like... pardon?? After all of Mami's talk about how she hated the way people looked at her, you decided to draw her with spread legs and do her dirty like that?

The latter half or whatever it was was angst city and it hurt but it was normal Blue Flag quality. I had to deduct from my rating for the first third or half or whatever.

1. These characters have so much depth that when you think you know them, you actually don't.
2. The childhood flashback chapter 🥹
3. Shouko and Sayaka ended homophobia, public service rant ❤️

I have been loving the story line so far and seeing the characters grow. The only reason it's not 5 stars. Is the title page in one of the chapters is very fanservice heavy.
Mami and her 2 friends posing in lingerie.
I'm a sex averse asexual so I stay away from spicy contect and fanservice contect. This page was so out of the norm for the story line and the type of story telling it really yanked me out of enjoying it for the last bit. Hoping the last book doesn't ruin the series for me. So far so good though.
