Was reading on a train in Italy so the setting was perfect, but I was a bit bored and have no inclination to pick it back up

This book was going great. A little spooky, a little stressful, hard to put down. And then they just casually murdered someone in one sentence and didn’t talk about it again??

dark emotional mysterious sad tense fast-paced

Perhaps it's because this is all the thriller my heart can take (more mystery and drama than actual murder and gore and definitely not scary) but I loved this!! I enjoyed the story within a story approach, the slow unfolding of events, the focus on sisterhood and competition and how you knew you were never quite getting 100% but would eventually. Also... ORVIETO!!!! so, I may be biased because I lived there for six months but it was amazing being back in that space and I've never wanted to travel somewhere more than while reading this. So, perhaps plus a star because I'm setting-biased for Umbrian hill top villas. Brb going to buy Orvieto Classico for happy hour now.

So many parallels between both storylines!

What a great twisty read all about sisters, friendship, loss and reclamation. I loved it! I listened to it via Libby and the narrators were amazing. It’s definitely a good book to listen to!
