I thought Kristen was way too stubborn which made her annoying. I don’t quite understand her thought processes. This book had me hooked though and it got kind of emotional. I was not expecting the stuff about Brandon. Looking forward to reading the other books in this series.

My girl Abby, you can do no wrong! This is my 4th Abby book, all have been 5⭐️ ! The magical way she is able to connect the reader with these characters is just a work of art. Josh a Fireman, Firemen are my weakness, and Kristen, an entrepreneur are the perfect imperfect couple, riddled with trauma. Typically miscommunication is my least favorite trope, But in this book I understood why there was so much miscommunication. I do need to do a rewatch of Pulp Fiction after reading this book though ;) Im excited to continue on in the series, the next book about Sloanes journey, sure to be another amazing and heartbreaking read.

It was cute but the characters were annoying in that it was consistent issues in communication. And while it was resolved in the end and I understand where they were coming from I think it could’ve been cut about in half. Then Brandon and Sloan’s storyline was not my favorite thing. Didn’t feel necessary.

I enjoyed that this explored infertility issues in relationships, but the ending annoyed me a bit. I read this series out of order so I already knew a lot of the plot twists. This felt long because it was literally the same internal conversations from our main characters for the entire book. After reading this author's newest books, this read very obviously like her first. It was good, but definitely not my favorite.

The story itself was okay but the FMC was a pick me (~I’m not like other girls~) and the MMC was your standard ex-military guy (setting my phone down while I throw up in my mouth real quick). Both reeked of internalized misogyny and it was hard for me to get past in order to finish the book. I kept hoping the book would get better but unfortunately it just never did.
