My exact words while reading this book to my bestie was this book is disturbing you’ve got to read it. This book isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s the epitome of a true horror novel and it’s right up there with Stephen King with a dash of Texas Chainsaw Massacre and some Dahmer threw in. You literally can’t stop reading. Anxious to start the next book in the series but I must let my heart recover first

While there were parts that seemed repetitive,  I think it may have been intentional. The story reads as the panicked thoughts of the main character and the repetitive thoughts added to the authenticity of the racing mind of someone held against their will. This story started off dark and took a darker turn very quickly. It also left enough questions to make me want to know more about the villain, and intrigued to read the 2nd book to learn more about him!
