I received a free copy of this audiobook through a giveaway on Story Graph and this is my honest review.
Ok, so this book gave me 0.
Without giving away any spoilers, I found the story to have a lot of gaps and inconsistencies and I can't believe that everything was solved with a game of pool.
I don't think I'll continue reading this series.

Rating this book so low is frustrating because it held so much promise that, unfortunately, remained largely unrealized. I enjoyed the writing style and the protagonist, Terra. The relationships between characters, along with the overarching theme of Terra's search for freedom and emancipation, were also strong points. However, the shortcomings in plot execution left me with a sense of unfulfilled potential.
The characters, particularly Terra, were undeniably likable and well-developed. Terra's complexity added layers to the story, and I appreciated the effort put into crafting multidimensional personalities. The world-building was intriguing, creating a backdrop that had the potential to be explored more deeply.
Despite these positives, my engagement with the plot was lackluster. Many conflicts were resolved hastily, leaving me with a sense of unearned resolutions. The rushed conclusion diminished the impact of the narrative, with Terra, the protagonist, seemingly relegated to a passive role. The potential for a more intricate and satisfying resolution was evident but sadly missed.
One notable flaw lies in the prevalence of convenient coincidences throughout the story. These occurrences felt unnatural and further detracted from my overall engagement in the narrative. The rushed pace of the plot left little room for the complexities of the story to fully unfold and resonate with the reader (or me, at least).
On a positive note, the romantic aspect of the book was nicely done. The absence of unnecessary drama and protracted miscommunication was refreshing.
In summary, while the book had its merits, the rushed resolutions, convenient coincidences, and overall brevity prevented it from reaching its full potential. It's frustrating to see a story with such promising elements fall short, leaving the reader with a sense of unfulfilled expectations.

Not at all my normal type of book, but enjoyed it more than I expected.
