This book has been on my shelf for YEARS! I picked it up yday as I decided to stop picking up random ebooks & audiobooks and read from my physical TBR.
I've been thinking about how my reading habits are so chaotic, there is no order for how and what i read, but the books I read often end up being what i needed to read, whether it's for escapism, reflection or depressive episodes.
I'm glad I read this book at this point of my life. Would love to re-read.

And a Free Palestine gets a mention in this book <3

I genuinely have no words.
I am appalled, angry, discouraged, and desperate. I can’t believe there are women in this world who have to go through violence like this.
This book has to be read. Experiences like these need to be shared.

Meena Kandasamy's unflinching and raw look at an educated woman being the victim of domestic violence is a sight to be beheld. Emotional, hard-hitting and even a little funny at times, I can't imagine that I am the only one who believes that this should have won the Women's Prize for Fiction. Either way, it is a book that I won't be forgetting anytime soon and one that I cannot help but press into the hands of everyone that I meet.
