So basically, the grumpiest of grumps that insists on never falling in love meets his match and can't help becoming obsessed. Loved these characters and the entire family dynamic.

Tropes:
Grumpy/sunshine
Small town vibes
Single "mom"
Older MCs (mid 30s/40s)
Obsessed hero
Alphahole MC
Found family
She falls first/he falls harder
Dual POV

Naomi is very relatable, with a heart full of gold. She's just so easy to like. I completely understood all her fears of parenthood and wanting to do her best. I understood that she felt unworthy and unwanted, but I did want to see her find a little more of her confidence. Knox was the quintessential grumpy alphahole that you can't help being drawn to. Maybe it's that wounded soul vibe that is like catnip to a natural caregiver/problem solver. Every interaction he had with Naomi was both electrifying and funny. I loved all the shenanigans they went through... especially their first encounter. And the chemistry they had was off the charts hot. Lots of spice and fun times.

Overall, it is a drama filled, funny, small-town, grumpy/sunshine romance that delivers with a satisfying HEA. It was a little long in my opinion, but I think getting the extra moments with side characters was worth it. Really added to the found family aspect of the story... especially in the end. I highly recommend this book for fans of small town romances with a sexy, grumpy, alphahole MC.

Maybe it’s because I have a tendency to put others needs before my own, but I loved how a big part of the story was Naomi learning to accept the fact that she didn’t have to do everything on her own and can rely on others for help. I especially loved how her and Knox’s characters seem like a real life couple with the way they compliment, love, hurt, and help each other… this book was cute and I devoured it.

This was pretty cute! I liked the grumpy-sunshine dynamic and all the stuff with Waylay made me tear up. I also enjoyed the B plot that was pretty suspenseful. The characters were well written and it was pretty funny. I just wish men would talk about their feelings more lol

Initially I did not have high hopes for this book. I was worried it was just one of those Booktok heavily influenced books. But some of my friends read it and loved it so I gave it the good ol college try. I loved it. I especially loved that the side characters had their own stuff going on and weren’t solely there to push the main story along. I found a lot of the characters and their traits relatable for different reasons.

There is a lot of cussing because Knox has a mouth on him but since I cuss like a sailor I personally didn’t find it to be a problem.

One of my favourite series ever. I love a grumpy x sunshine and a found family. This was my first Lucy Score, book; it made me fall in love with her writing and these characters. I immediately fell in love with both of the mcs, I loved the introduction to the world, it was entertaining and drama-filled from page 1. I not only fell in love with the mcs but also all the side characters, I could see the setup for future books but I also loved the depth other characters brought, which added depth to the mcs. It was a perfect slow burn that's full of tension, humour, and love. What was perfect was that you got the slow burn in the first half and the spice in the second half; the story had a crime side plot that was well-developed enough to make it a massive part of the story, linked to multiple side characters, and really dragged you in. I also loved the fact that they had real conversations and even though it was a happy ending, the conversations and self-healing to get there were healthy (in the end) and realistic. 6/5 stars!
