1) No town in Northern Virginia works this way, and no town that works this way would consider itself in NoVA
2) the hero is not particularly likable and is the ‘bad’ sibling but gets a redemption arc while the ‘bad’ sibling that’s a woman is even called a ‘bad seed’ by the hero! The lack of empathy for a person who made terrible choices and zero examination of why that person may have made the choices they did is appalling. It doesn’t absolve a person of their choices…but yeesh.

I did not like either the MCs personalities, but it was written very well that their personalities made 100% sense. This book is not a typical romance novel, because the main female character truly has a messy life. If you like a combination of a HEA and serious dramatic life events, this is a great read.
