I loved this book.

The characters were beautifully written, and the relationships between them is what set this story apart for me! Lucy Score pays so much attention to the subconscious reactions between characters which really adds deeper emotion and realism. The level of wholesome family vibes in this book is unmatched. Please if you want a book that's going to make you smile every other page, read this. And the comedy?! I genuinely laughed out loud at least once every chapter.

This was such an interesting concept with the romance and the darker storyline. The violence was unexpected but was written well and wasn't too violent, just dramatic. Also the spice was a nice touch and built up really well with the tension throughout the chapters. Knox's pov was fantastic and gave a fresh insight into all character mindsets and actions.

Also the fuckable levels. Lucian, Knox, Nash...always lot's to think about. The spicy scenes were fun, detailed and actually added to the story rather than just being there for spicy entertainment. However the use of sentences such as "long thick weapon of mass destruction" had me closing the book and missing the person I was before reading. That being said, the amount of life changing quotes I read in this book (especially from Knox) thank you Lucy Score.

I didn't really see any context or reason for Knox's actions at the start of the book. His harshness was frustrating as again there didn't seem to be much context for this so he just seemed unnecessarily mean. Also a lot of character relationships yet to be explored so clearly set up for the other books in the series, but the characters are loveable enough to want to read about them further.

4⭐️/2.5🌶️

I know it’s a relatively long book but I got hooked from the first chapter and almost read it in one sitting😅

I overall really did enjoy this book but there were some minor issues, like the fact that they are in their late 30s-40s seemed a bit unbelievable and at one point I wanted to slap the shit out of Knox for being an idiot😠

That being said it was a really fun and easy read. I really liked all (most) of the characters and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!! What I like about small town rom coms is that everyone is involved at one point and I LOVE IT!😝

I know there are a lot of mixed reviews out there but imo this book is worth reading and I definitely recommend!! 🫶🏻Honestly you can take me back to Knockemout anytime! You best believe I will be back for Nash and Lucian’s books soon!🥵😍

Tropes:
🌼Grumpy x sunshine
🌼small town romance
🌼family dynamics
🌼fake dating
🌼single parent

Did not expect this book to be as interesting or as funny as it is. Was giggling and kicking my feet some moments, and frantically reading to make sure all the characters were ok in other moments.

This is what I’m asking when I say spicy especially since there was a plot and steamy romance. I can’t wait to read the next book.
