I love these characters, this story, and most importantly, this town! If you're looking for the grumpiest man you've ever seen, but who is actually just the softest, most protective teddy bear, this is for you!

A little dose of found family, some action, a decent sprinkling of spice, and so much warm fuzziness. I will - without question - be running back to my library to pick up books 2 and 3 as soon as I can!

I enjoyed this book! It had a good story and good spice. Some characters could be frustrating at times, but definitely redeemed themselves. I know there are 2 more books in the series, but I'm not 100% sure I am interested enough in reading them.

Small town grumpy x sunshine romance with a found family. This book has some heart warming scenes, as well as spice (spice brings the star count down for me personally but to each their own). It’s a good twin that finds herself fixing her bad twins problems all the time. This time the problem comes with a kid.

Officially, this is only my second 5-star of the year. I really enjoyed this story and I thought the Tina mystery aspect was super interesting; I felt like I was constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop and I kept reading to see when it would come. Was I a little annoyed at Knox and Naomi for being absolute morons sometimes? Of course. But that's romance, baby.

I also hope that this series gets a fourth book with
Stef and Jerimiah. <3

Also, Way calling Knox "dad" in the extended epilogue melted my heart.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5)

Genre: Romance

About 550 pages

For Naomi, running away from her problems only seems to lead her to more… After running away from the altar, she runs to her sister Tina who calls her asking for help. Unfortunately, that was a misleading call… When Naomi arrives in Knockemout, not only is she forced to deal with her twin’s terrible reputation but her sister has stolen her car, wallet, phone, and more from Naomi. And in its place, left her daughter Waylay for Naomi to take care of. In the midst of things falling apart, Naomi meets Knox, the town’s “bad boy” who prefers to be alone. However, despite his best attempts to resist, he can’t stay away from Naomi. He goes out of his way to help her & Waylay and seems to be falling for her in the process. Though he plans to distance himself as soon as she’s back on her feet, his heart and the trouble Tina has gotten into have other plans for him.

After seeing all the hype for Things We Left Behind, I knew I needed to return to Knockemout. And I enjoyed this book a little more the second time around! Not sure why but I bought into Knox and Naomi’s relationship more and had greater sympathy for Knox during my second read. As said in my OG review, I really enjoyed the side characters and wish we got to know more about them (what was the deal between Lucian and Sloane, deeper dive into Waylay’s early childhood, and more about Nash, Knox, and Lucian’s younger selves). Because of this, I am super excited to read TWLB soon!

I don't usually enjoy enemies to lovers but I enjoyed it in this book. Could've been a five star read, but the ending felt a little bit rushed and strange.
