So basically, the grumpiest of grumps that insists on never falling in love meets his match and can't help becoming obsessed. Loved these characters and the entire family dynamic.

Tropes:
Grumpy/sunshine
Small town vibes
Single "mom"
Older MCs (mid 30s/40s)
Obsessed hero
Alphahole MC
Found family
She falls first/he falls harder
Dual POV

Naomi is very relatable, with a heart full of gold. She's just so easy to like. I completely understood all her fears of parenthood and wanting to do her best. I understood that she felt unworthy and unwanted, but I did want to see her find a little more of her confidence. Knox was the quintessential grumpy alphahole that you can't help being drawn to. Maybe it's that wounded soul vibe that is like catnip to a natural caregiver/problem solver. Every interaction he had with Naomi was both electrifying and funny. I loved all the shenanigans they went through... especially their first encounter. And the chemistry they had was off the charts hot. Lots of spice and fun times.

Overall, it is a drama filled, funny, small-town, grumpy/sunshine romance that delivers with a satisfying HEA. It was a little long in my opinion, but I think getting the extra moments with side characters was worth it. Really added to the found family aspect of the story... especially in the end. I highly recommend this book for fans of small town romances with a sexy, grumpy, alphahole MC.

Maybe it’s because I have a tendency to put others needs before my own, but I loved how a big part of the story was Naomi learning to accept the fact that she didn’t have to do everything on her own and can rely on others for help. I especially loved how her and Knox’s characters seem like a real life couple with the way they compliment, love, hurt, and help each other… this book was cute and I devoured it.

I've been seeing this book everywhere, but I kept putting it off because this thing is a chunker, and any book over 400 pages just kind of scares me away. But I kept seeing it getting recommended this month, and it felt like fate was just telling me to pick the dang book up, so here went nothing. I am so happy that I picked this one up because not only was this a 5-star, it was one that I could not put down and had so much fun reading. The book didn't feel like a 500+ page book because I just flew through this so fast. This book is technically a small-town romance, and it fits in that spectrum, but it was so much more. First, we had the drama from Tina to deal with; we got to see Naomi get her life put back together and care for Waylay, and then to top it all off, we had Knox! Knox is a very broody man who isn't your typical hero. I loved how he got so protective over not just Naomi but also Waylay. This book became one of my favorites, and I can see this one being one of the top books of the year for me. I hate that it took me so long to read, but this one is the beginning of a series. The next book I hoped would follow Lucian, but it turns out to be following Nash, Knox's brother. I honestly can't wait because I loved Score's writing in this book and the story in this one was just amazing. I can't wait to see how that book plays out, and hopefully, there's a third that follows Lucian's story!
