Oakley hasn't used her voice for 11 years, too scared to speak for fear of exposing a secret from the past that would tear her world apart. I reread this book because I read it when I was 11 or 12 and I don't think I understood properly the issues and atrocities Oakley had to face. The end is truly heartbreaking, especially the fact her mum and brother had to find out what happened. Though I must say that it being set in England is strange since the school system used was not the actual system, and that removed authenticity. I did love the relationship between Oakley and Cole, it was so genuine, and a good teen romance. The book was a bit rushed but it was still enjoyable. I would recommend this book, but with very heavy content warnings.
Graphic: Adult/minor relationship, Gaslighting, Pedophilia, Rape, Sexual assault, and Sexual violence
Moderate: Bullying
