heckin hell I misremembered this book and a half. I thought I hated this book for some reason but it turns out I super stan it. I cared about the new character of Dante cause they started with his back story (v tragic too) and then it was him james and loz for the rest so i was fully invested! And a sick mish too - who knew i loved this a lot? not me but now it's one of my faves of the series!

Since the characters of this book were far more realistic and more developed in every way than the people on previous missions, it made me wonder about their fates—would Martin be successful and end up traveling the world, or would he continue to manage the crepe stand? Would the Führer continue his reign of terror among the Brigands or would he be found out?—and made the story more memorable to me.

The penultimate book in the CHERUB series starts with a flashback as we see how Dante Scott became a young spy, joining the top-secret CHERUB organisation at the same time as Lauren Adams. The action then moves to the present day when Dante - along with Lauren and James - is sent on a mission that has the deepest personal meaning to him. But will he use it to seek revenge and put them all in jeopardy?
I love these books. Muchamore has created a totally believable world and realistic characters that you just have to root for, despite their personal flaws.
