The ending of this one really frustrated and disappointed me. I still have to wrap my head around my opinion of the book as a whole too, because there were elements that I really liked, but thinking about the story as a whole, it didn't really "do much" in the end.
At the start of the book, I was filled with anticipation and thought the author really brought across her love and wonder for fairy tales, which is also how I feel about them most of the time. However, it sort of stayed at that point a bit too long in my opinion, and some of the descriptions or plot points felt a bit redundant. Speaking about the characters though, oh god did one of them in particular make me frustrated by her actions. The mystery that was hinted at in the beginning also didn't leave me satisfied with its "reveal" at the end.

I'm quite sad about this, since the magical, goth elements of this book really had some potential for me.

This book was interesting. I wouldn’t say I loved it but I didn’t hate it and wanted to finish it and see what was going to happen.
