This is some very clever poetry, normally you get a poem per page with a clever title, here there are no titles, it is just one long grouping of poems. The style reminds me of a stand-up comic doing a show of one-liners.
There are a few laughs in here:
"You will never know the art
of self-destruction
if you brush your teeth"
Some sexy scenes:
"Her big pregnant belly
and hulking milk filled boobs
looked like meteors about to
destroy the earth"
And some scenes inside a cats head:
"look how fucking soft and sentimental
that girl has made you,
I’m still out here,
in the madness;
I am a god
And you are a
Failed dissident
A simple couch potato.
You are nothing again
You are the tamed beast
and i am a God."
What it is missing though is the feistiness that the title implies can be found here. A wee bit of violence would have earned this 5 stars.
Entertaining stuff, looking forward to checking out more of his poems.
