I first became a huge fan of Cosgrove after reading her Suspense series Stan Brookshire. Her wicked mind captivated me from the very start. So it came as a surprise when I found out Ms. Cosgrove had decided to delve into Romance, or in this case romantic suspense. What came as no surprise at all was the character development. You either like the DOT team or you don't. Either way, there is a bond between them that flies out of the pages and can't be denied. They bicker and tease each other only as siblings do even though there is no actual relation between any of them.

As with most suspense, the readers either have no clue who the evildoer is and we spend the entire book trying to figure it out through the clues the author drops throughout the storyline, or the bad guy is known right from the start. We know who it is, we hate them on sight, and we continue reading to see just how far this character will go and when will the "good guys" finally catch on. Diamonds is unique however in that you know who the bad guy is, or you believe you do, and you know who the innocent party is. Everyone else is an interesting shade of gray. Because like it or not, sometimes you have to blur that line between right and wrong to do the right thing.

The storyline and plot were pretty unique to this reader and let me tell you that's saying a lot considering how many books I read in any given week. I cannot wait to see where Cosgrove and the DOT team takes us next.

Revived for review from netgally this has in now way effected my opinion.

This book was a delight to the senses. From lies to murder to heartbreak to forgiveness this book has it all With her amazing characters I am waiting for the next one on the edge of my seat.

"Look I know you aren't always treated like you should be. You aren't a pawn to be moved on a chessboard to stuit the needs of others. You need to be treated better. I am going make sure that happens." He took her hand in his and gently kissed it.

Daria was raised by a over protected dad and being the princess in his life no man is good enough. Daria never trust anyone not to hurt her or want something from her. When a stranger pushes a way into her luge he breaks down all her defences and she realises he may just steal her heart.

Sebastian a criminal now on the right side of the law when this case comes along it turns all well laid plans on its ear. Daria is nothing he is excepting but everything his heart wants. When danger threatens her where at least expected will he come clean and lose the best thing he ever didn't know he wanted

Cover: Beautiful and professionally done.
Formatting: Professional
Pace: Very fast!
Cliff hanger: No - wraps up nicely.
Character development: Brilliant. Complex characters/

Daria comes off a little bit snobbish at first but she really is relatable and likable - really she's just sick of shallow people herself and is surprised when she meets someone real.
Sebastian is mysterious - in a fun way. Sure, he's made bad choices but he works hard to stay on the right side of the law now.

Daria is the first woman who isn't swooning for him off the bat - and as much as he hates to admit it, he ends up intrigued by her.

This novel was really hard to put down - it has drama and crime, a bit of romance, a steamy scene, more drama, then some action. I love that it didn't leave me hanging - I cannot wait to read more of this series. It's a well designed series in that it'll leave you wanting more, but not going crazy because Cosgrove wraps things up nicely. It's a quick escape from reality - and a fun one at that.

There's mystery surrounding Sebastian's present and Daria's past - watching it all unfold was fascinating.
