In a way, this is the same story as Klara and the Sun, and Never Let Me Go. No matter how deeply we love, in the end we die alone. There are no exceptions. I don't know how it's possible to write so exquisitely. Kazuo Ishiguro is my favorite living author.

Incredibly slow-paced but hard to rate it lower given the final chapters.

I don't know what to say about this book. I picked it up at the library because the cover caught my eye, but 25 pages into the story, I knew I would have to push through in order to finish the book. The story had it's exciting moments and there was just enough of a hook to keep you reading, but overall I felt that it was very underwhelming.

I gave this book 140 pages and just couldn't with the stilted, repetitive dialogue.

The best book I read last year, to this day I keep thinking about how it ended and how it crushed me for weeks and how I couldn't read anything after this book. Please read it.
