This was very middle of the road for me. I'm pretty bummed out that I didn't love it because after I heard it was inspired by the Dyatlov pass incident, I was basically foaming at the mouth to read it.

There were a lot of pretty tense moments that were good, and lots of gore, but overall it felt repetitive. It was mostly about Dylan, Clay, Luke, and Sylvia wandering in the woods and then realizing they couldn't leave. And reading about how the characters held back vomit or had bile in their throats or threw up at a sight/smell happened so many times it got old by the end. I get it, it's gross 🙃

I have quite a few other thoughts about this book but honestly I don't really care to type them out atm so that's all for now 😂

I was so hooked into this by the premise of it. i loved knowing how almost everyone ended by it… but i had some higher hopes.

i wasn’t expecting it to be like a haunted maze sort of scare with ghosts and ghouls. i was expecting more of the earth being the main driving force of the horror… it did have some of the horror but it leaned towards ghosts a lot.

i liked the read a lot, but with so many different forces causing the events i got lost by the climax, and a smidge disappointed by the end.

I love stories like this, and it provided the creepiness I was hoping for. I've seen some reviews saying it was loosely based on Dyatlov Pass, but it reminded me so much more of Kris Kremers & Lisanne Froon, and I've always been very spooked by their story. This book is eerie and gory (two of the best things to be), and while I feel that it lost steam at times, overall, I had so much fun listening to it. I haven't read a physical copy, but I think this one might be better on audio just based on the path of the story. I would loooove to see a movie or limited series!
