Great little book! This book is marketed towards singles or people in a struggling relationship, but I honestly think everyone and their mums dog should read it, just to check in and make sure they are doing the right things to help their relationship flourish and thrive the best it can!

I wish the esteemed Gottmans had come up with a less tacky title.
The advice is simple and sensible.
The examples are brief enough, yet helpful.
It's all about the little things actually being a big deal.

Well, I did not expect this to like this as much as I did. I thought this book was written for people who experience difficulties in their relationships. I only started reading it because I promised the publisher. In fact, this book is very easy to read, there is a lot of humor, and it is filled with advice on how to maintain an already loving relationship.

Honestly wish I had this book sooner, and that's probably the best review I could give of it.  Even if you don't feel like your relationship is in a bad spot, it's worth a read for a perspective and some nice things to think about and talk about with your partner.  It really is about the little things and the little choices we make to turn towards, remain curious, and take time for each other.  It is very, very easy to come up with a list of things a partner does wrong, but focusing on those is what can tank a relationship.  The 5:1 ratio of positive to negative interactions was a real eye-opener for me.  Thinking 1:1 was probably fine and normal, when in fact, it is not (and 20:1 is even better!).  An important read for couples of all kinds that can really only make your love and relationship stronger, because love alone is not enough.

Awesome little book. Concise, wise, and well written. They don't waste time or get lost in tangents. I'm thankful to have a marriage that's hitting a lot of the beats laid out in the book.
