As someone who finds the fantasy genre a bit daunting, this is a pleasantly engaging and surprisingly easy book to read. The lore drops are subtly placed in conversations which felt more organic instead of characters just blurting out lines after lines of expositions. Apart from the obvious inspiration, Beauty and the Beast, I also liked the Coraline reference (the three tasks of Amarantha being parallel to the challenge of Other Mother) and Daz Kalte Herz (Heart of Stone).
Since this is a retelling of an already established story, the only nitpick I have is that the story is a bit predictable. Which isn't exactly bad, but it wouldn't hurt to make the readers guessing as to what happens next.
Not bad for the Faeri-fication of Beauty and the Beast.
