I found the characters to be incredibly flat and the plot to be flimsy. It was also very unevenly plotted. The first 2/3 did some interesting world building but took way too long and the last 1/3 felt rushed and under developed.

rhysand so hot bro like dang

I tried reading the book and I couldn’t and then I listened to the audio, and I still was having trouble and I got the graphic audio and I could not stop listening when you had the different voices and it felt like more intense emotion some books are just like that for me, but once I got into their banter in the relationships, they formed and Freya’s growth as a person it went from so much world building to such an intricate plot that now I’m stuck I need the next one now yesterday. Rhysand seems like such a rough character. Yet he’s so sweet to her and all the people of his court the people he calls friends. It’s almost like a beauty and the beast, but it’s not because he took her away to help her but I guess also to help himself. I don’t know. I need to read more. This was amazing. Everyone was right. You just have to push through the world building because once you hit that halfway mark, the book just picks up all of a sudden, and you cannot put it down.

it was a rlly nice book and I loved the fact that v v different from the usual YA that I read. stUff reaaaally went down I can’t say that I fell in love with it but maybe im just sick of reading romance stories or wtvr but this book wasn’t my pace and maybe if 13 year old me read this i think she’d loved it. I loved seeing their friendship kind of bloom but during the part where she’s faced with tasks I was getting a bit bored well probably that’s because I’ve spoiled myself with whats gonna happen but i will definitely make surE NOT TO DO THE SAME MISTAKE WITH BOOK 2
