Vixen, by Lauren Smith was amazing to read. I was excited to see that Sadie, the leading lady is a strong character for Seamus. It was a perfect fit. Seamus himself, is such a strong character in this book. First let me say that Lisa Smith’s fantasy paranormal romance writing is the stuff of an awesome writer.
Clearly Lisa can show her readers her talent as a writer, by being able to transition between genres, and still captivate her audience with great writing. I was very surprised that I loved the love story between Seamus and Sadie. The plot that joins these two together is very realistic for this type of fantasy writing. I’m so glad that Sadie didn’t come off as some young adult, whose a naive character. I got my fill of action, drama, steamy bed scenes and romance from this book.
I would have like to read more bedroom scenes, with more details. Maybe we will read more in future books. I was so drawn into the background story of Seamus. Boy that was heart cringing. Inserting the story of him and his sister and their survival, made me enjoy reading the story even more.
I’m excited to read the next release. Again, with Zoey’s character, she comes off as a bit flaky at times. Its as though her character was the youngest one in the group who couldn’t connect with the seriousness of the drama that was happening around them. Ian, I feel that he needs a strong woman, just like Seamus has. I also see Ian as a leader, just like Seamus.
Conner is still up in the air for me. Maybe, in future books Zoey will come into her own. Do not think that I didn’t enjoy this book. I very much recommend this book. I’m excited to read about Dracen’s story and where he came from. From the epilogue, he has some issues that he must deal with. Until next time my fellow readers...read on! I voluntary reviewed this ARC after receiving a free gifted copy.
