Phew, completed it! I can't compete with the lengthy reviews on this site, but to say that its an interesting tale and Tolstoy keeps my attention for the 900+ pages. Slightly anticlimactically finish as others have commented.
I have an unread copy of War And Peace now staring at me....

A mí no me ha gustado nada, porque a parte de sobrar páginas porque se repetía en las explicaciones, según mi punto de vista deja trozos de argumento "a l'aire", sin especificar. Además, la forma de terminar la novela no me ha gustado.

The question I kept coming to when I was reading this book was, "If I was stranded on a deserted island and the ONLY thing to keep me company was a copy of Anna Karenina, could I have finished this book?" Honestly, I don't know. My husband thinks that ripping the pages out and eating them for roughage would be more useful. Or burning the pages along with palm leaves to keep me warm at night on my little island would be more useful. Just about anything would be more useful than finishing this book.
I have read Gone with the Wind twice and loved every minute of it and so I know that the length of this book wasn't why I didn't finish it. Throughout the 450 pages I read of this book, I would read and read and then look at the page I was on and wonder how the hell I was only on page 125. I actually put the book down (and I almost never do that) and read TWO other books before coming back to it, thinking that maybe the story would have picked up. And it didn't and then I wondered how I was only on page 126.
The characters were hard to like and root for and the story seemed disjointed (maybe everything would have come together at the end, but I will always have to wonder about that). In case you haven't made it to page 450, this is the part where Levin finally gets to marry Kitty and instead freaks out convinced that she doesn't really love him. Really? I'm done. I can't take anymore of the self induced drama from these characters!!
Another reviewer said that he burned his copy when he was done because he just couldn't bear to see his copy of AK sitting on his shelf. If this wasn't a library book, I would have done the same.

I liked the main story but kept getting distracted by the tangents Tolstoy tends to take. Sometimes I also got tired of the intermittent philosophy inserted here and there. Perhaps I should have just read the summaries...

I like parts about this book but other parts bother my. I hate Kitty, but admittedly because I see many of my flaws in her. The philosophy debates are fun, and some of the conversations are sarcastic gems. But the reading gets really slow and I know I would never be able to get through it if it werent for the fact that I'm listening to it as an audiobook.

“I've always loved you, and when you love someone, you love the whole person, just as he or she is, and not as you would like them to be.”
It took me almost five months to finish reading this book, but it was definitely worth it! The writing is captivating, and I even felt so entranced in the three chapters where all Levin does is mow grass. The contrast between Levin and Kitty's relationship and Anna and Vronsky's was fascinating, and I love how Tolstoy showcases so many facets of Russian society in these characters.
This book isn't simply about Anna and Vronsky's affair; Tolstoy dives into politics, religion, government, and even dips into philosophy by having Levin question why he bothers to do anything at all if he will die anyway. All of this and more culminate into one incredible masterpiece of a novel.
