I only jumped into this one because I needed to know that Kallie was safe. But once again the writing style really bothered me. It just felt so repetitive. And I felt like it was dragging to me.

A Stone in the Sea and Drowning to Breathe - just.... wow! These stories were so poetically beautiful! A definite favorite of mine!

Part 2

The conclusion of Sebastian & Shae starts of gut wrenching, I cried & man that doesn't happen often. Actually this whole book tugged a little on the heart strings.

I'm so glad Austin finally grew a set and stood up for himself and becoming whole.
Kid deserves his own happy ever after.

Im also impressed that A.L Jackson didn't make her characters take the easy way out. That they did absolutely everything to protect, to love and to keep forever.

This book was just as annoying as the last. I’m glad Baz and Shea’s story got it’s happily ever after. I’m still looking forward to the rest of the guys’ stories but I don’t have much hope for them.

description

***The Danger in Pretending is it becoming Real***

First of all this is a sequel to A Stone in the Sea and continues with the same characters (NOT A STAND-ALONE!!). So if you haven't read A Stone in the Sea, be WARNED that this review could contain minor spoilers ;)

We pick up exactly where we left off in A Stone in the Sea. This book has cured me of my fear for cliffhangers, however I was impatiently waiting on this book since I read A Stone in the Sea on release day. I was dying to find out what would happen after the plot twist at the end of book 1. It really broke my heart seeing Shea in pain like that. I can't imagine how I would react if that happened to me.

"Do you really think you don't know me, Sebastian? Do you really think you don't know every single thing that counts? This room...this house... me being a mother to Kallie...loving you."

In A Stone in the Sea Baz had told Shea his secrets but Shea still had her secrets which she was reluctant to share. First I was like come on Shea be honest with Baz, but after reading why she didnt I totally understood why she didn't provide all the details. Baz is a very passionate man, he is a protector and can't stand to see his loved ones in pain. Shea kept her secrets the first half of the book because she wanted to protect Baz. She knew what would happen if she told him everything that happened to her. Baz would go and do something without thinking of the consequences. Like it was mentioned in the book he is and always will be a fight-to-the-death kind of guy.

"We're so much alike, Sebastian. You just wear all your scars here. On the outside."

I loved all the side characters: Ash, Lyrick, Zee and Austin. I am super excited that they all are getting their own story. I am especially excited to read Austin's book, who made a big step towards getting better in this book. I hate Jennings, he still was his evil self, trying to ruin everyones lives.

"And here I stood, covered in Shea's light, cloaked in her darkness, surrounded in her scent of satisfaction, lost beneath the surface where she became the air. My air. DROWNING TO BREATHE."

This book is one of my favorites of 2015. I have read every full-length novel by AL Jackson and love all of them, she doesn't disappoint! I am looking forward to what she has in store for us in the future.

This was so good! The conclusion to Sebastian and Shae's story was beautiful! There was so much in both of their pasts that they needed to overcome to get to their HEA. I felt so many emotions when reading this - anger, frustration, sadness but most importantly, love and happiness. Shae and Sebastian may be one of my favorite book couples ever. The writing was captivating and I didn't want this book to end. I can't wait to read more books in this series - especially Austin's story. This was a fantastic book and I highly recommend it!

I only read it cause the last book ended on a cliffy *shakes fist* not as many spicy scenes but the drama is ramped up from the first book for sure. Enjoyable if you like to read, just be ready for some CRAZY plot twists in the 3rd act. 😮‍💨

Was anyone else mad at Sebastien for not talking to Shea about trying to get her pregnant without taking to her first, or was that just me?? Their whole relationship went super fast and what they are in their mid 20s? Definitely seems super reckless…
I do really love the relationship between Sebastien and his found family of band members and the way the open their hearts to two new members! Shea & Calli. 🥹
My heart broke when Sebastien was putting the pieces together while he was in Mark’s room! My heart dropped when he broke the restraining order after Shea made him promise not to go confront motherfucker 😩😫 he still went… he should have called Shea.

WOW!! Drowning to Breathe gave me all the feels. My emotions were all over the place! A.L. Jackson words are brilliant. This book picks up where A Stone in the Sea left off and it totally slayed me. More angst. More heat. More heart. More of everything and I loved every second of it. The love and bond between Shea and Sebastian is stronger than ever before. I almost can’t deal with their amazing connection. I could not put it down. It was the perfect ending for an absolutely wonderful and lovely couple. And side note, the way Baz lovingly interacts with Shea’s daughter, Kallie is so heart melting and ovaries exploding. He made me a swoony mess. I am completely obsessed with this series!!
