This was a fascinating look at issues for both the person dying and their caregivers and family. I am not currently either of those, but had flagged a talk by BJ Miller and searched to see if he’d written anything. Maybe it’s that we’re 7 months into a pandemic, but it was enlightening and soothing (in a Stoic way) to peek behind the curtain of where we will all find ourselves, guided by caring experts.
This may not be the best beach read, but if you find yourself or a loved one with a tricky diagnosis, this compassionate guide will be essential.

Lots of great information in this book, but I thought of it more as a reference material than a book you'd read cover to cover. I skimmed and got some great tips which I put into action and feel more confident to manage my in affairs as well as those of a loved one.

I have never listened to an audiobook with a more pleasing narrator than B.J. Miller. But, to focus on the relevant things, this was a great book. Many parts were not relevant to me as a non-American, but I can't hold it against them. It didn't quite reach 5 stars for me, but it's close. Maybe it's because I would have wanted something pertaining to my own issues, but again, can't hold it against them.
