Puck Shy
Carolina Comets
By: Teagan Hunter
Narrated by: Tim Paige, Callie Dalton

OK, I admit this is my first Teagan Hunter book, but it certainly won't be my last. I am a fan! This is a fun, sports romance that warmed my heart! Collin has had a tough end of season, and is looking to lay low until practice starts up again. Going back though, his car breaks down and he is able to hitch a ride with Harper. Harper is quirky, loves horror and has made her passion for it her job through art. She has no idea Collin is a hockey player, and he loves the idea he can just be himself. Now back in town, he is having a problem getting back in the groove and still has Harper on his mind. Will these two find their way to each other? And will she be good dating a hockey player? How can you go wrong with this sweet and spicy story? I love Collin. He is so inside his own head, he can't get out of his own way. Harper is a fantastic character, seeing Collin for who he is and her quirkiness is a perk! Their meet cute is original and their love story epic. It's a fun, easy listen and made me smile.

Tim Paige and Callie Dalton bring this gem to life. Paige is perfect as Collin. He gives him that hesitancy as he tries to get back on track, and his love for Harper shines through Paige's voice. Dalton brings out all Harper's eccentricities and makes her real. I love these two together, they made this story fly by and it was enjoyable.

3.5, loved most of it except for the 2 main characters.

This is fine but I got it for free and it’s not good enough to hold my interest

Back in my hockey romance era. Short and cute, kinda cringe but still enjoyed.

I read this whole thing in like 3 hours and it was a fun time. Very funny and cute banter! It’s nothing crazy special but it’s good enough for what it is! I’m sure there was issues with writing based on other reviews but I was reading it too fast to pay attention to any of that crap so I don’t care.

I’m sure I’ll continue and read the next one in the series because I’m a sucker for these kind of books when I’m in a slump.

This was an enjoyable read.  Harper & Collin were a cute couple and I loved the banter between them - some of their messages had me laughing.  I liked that it was relatively low angst until the third act breakup, but I loved Harper’s way of apologising.

However, I did find this to be a bit flat & dull.  I was just waiting for that something to turn this from good to great, but it never arrived.
