Didn't really care for the romance, but it was cute and had some good anxiety rep.

It was alright. I found the plot interesting as it went back and forth between two what ifs. at the same time though I wish that one of them would have played out normally. I kept changing my mind over which one would have been the best scenario.

4 sterren. Goed boek maar het was het gewoon niet voor mij persoonlijk. Vond het kerst thema wel leuk.

This started out as a 4 star book. But then I kept thinking about it. And then I decided that I might want to read it again... And so it has bumped up to 5 stars.

*Ending spoilers below*
Once I started I could barely stand to put it down (ugh, life

-friends to lovers
-YA
-mental health representation
-dual timeline/parallel universe
-some miscommunication trope

I want to start off by saying this book was super cute and perfect for a last minute Christmas Eve read.

I liked the anxiety and panic disorder rep, and it’s prompted me to schedule an apt w/my dr and a therapy apt bc I’ve suffered with a lot of the same issues the mc goes through (even her line of thinking where she hasn’t seeked help before bc “it’s not as bad as others probably have it/therapy and medical treatment can be expensive”).

The friends to lovers was executed so sweetly, even though it’s usually a trope I tend to stray away from. Also, the dual timeline plot was pretty creative and engaging. It captured my attention and made the story go by quickly. The wrap up was well executed, as well.

I did not like the college boy fling with high school girl plot, though. Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t think he was a freshman and that made it weird… he also acted pretty manipulative and became the villain of the story in my eyes pretty quickly.

All in all, I’d recommend this cute, YA story for the holidays.

Stayed up til 4am reading this entire book with pre-Election Day nerves. It was the perfect light-hearted swoony romance I needed! Clever sliding-doors plot, and love that the main character grapples with her mental health. Get lost in this one for the holidays!

Niet mijn ding. Als ik 15 jaar jonger was, dan misschien nog wel..
