i personally didn't feel like this character was very representative of youth, and i didn't agree nor feel like i learnt anything from an environment that i can't recognise anything for myself.
not for me.

This book was such a bad reading to me, it was all repetitive and honestly boring. I didn’t think a lot of the things happening were necessary for the story to go on…I usually never hate on books but couldn’t stand the way it was constructed, to me it was messy + I felt like it was kinda unrealistic…
However, maybe his relationship with his sister was the one thing I liked, I wouldn’t recommend the book tho…

I almost gave up on reading this book many times during the first half, but I'm glad I powered through and finished it. The last 35% of the book really pulls it all together. I teared up a bit at the ending. It's not a book I think I'll ever care to read again, but I am glad I read it.
I think it deserves more than a 3.5/5, but I'm rating based on how I liked it.

Not very addictive, even if you tried. I had trouble finishing it, I think it's either black or white. Either you see yourself in Holden and like it, or you don't and don't like it. The beginning of the book was good, but the further along I got, the less I liked it. It became boring, with no action...
