I previously read this when it was first released in the summer and really enjoyed it. But, for me, this edition illustrated by Chris Riddell is the definitive edition. Both illustrations and text enhance and complement each other, lifting it to a whole other level. But whether you prefer books with pictures or without, I would highly recommend picking this up in whatever form you can.

This book along with Matt Haig’s The Midnight Library both helped me through a rough time. This book helped me appreciate the time I have and not to take it for granted. I felt a great amount of comfort from the main Character.

Very mid book. Parts of it kept me engaged, but there were just so many little interludes and not the strongest main plot. The concept was interesting, but the pacing didn’t always work for me.

I really liked this book. I love history so reading tom’s life throughout 400 years was interesting. But I felt that the ending was too rushed. Wished it was longer :/
