Ser moderno es lo mismo ahora que hace 80 años, al parecer. Un lenguaje aparentemente simple que hace casi más que la propia novela a la hora de transmitirte lo que pretende.

Original, unbelievably interesting and such an insightful prose, that's what Camus offers in The Outsider.
The revelations that the protagonist reaches are a splendid examination of society.
A lot of authors, in both fiction and non-fiction, inspire with the meaningfulness of life, the meaningfulness deriving from the fact that just as any journey, our life will have an end. Camus takes the polar opposite journey - we're equally meaningless because we may not know what we like or what we dislike, but we sure as hell know how life will end - with death.
"So close to death, Mama must have felt set free, ready to live once more. No one - no one - had the right to cry over her."
It may come as a contradiction that The Outsider is also surprisingly positive, at least to me, at least within the tone in which it's written.
