I ate this shit up. other than some of the miscommunication and elle’s family being a sack of dildos at times, this book had me giggling and getting all the fuzzies.

Elle and Darcy are set up on what winds up being a HORRIBLE first date. While they both have initial attraction, their personalities are pretty much opposite. Elle is a follower of horoscopes and even has her own astrology web business that she runs with a friend. Meanwhile, Darcy is very serious about her career as an insurance actuary. Elle is looking for her soul mate and Darcy is sick of her younger brother trying to set her up with people. The two end the date expecting to never speak to each other again.

But, after a a little white lie gets out of control, both women agree to pretend they are dating until after the holidays are over in order to get both of their families off of their backs about their relationship statuses. But then the feelings start getting real in their fake relationship...

This was a cute LGBTQ+ entry into the trope of fake dating until it becomes real. The story line was believable and the writing was engaging. There were even a few steamy passages thrown in there to spice things up a bit. I recommend this one to fans of romance or chick lit.

This was adorable! The sapphic content we need. Very cliché in some parts (has a tendency to go too corny at times) and some of the characters felt a little 2 dimensional hence the lower rating. However, really appreciated the writing around the relationship and there was smut which often doesn't happen in gay romances!
Overall, just melt your heart adorable!

Mostly kind of boring. Did love the reference to Pride and Prejudice though

I thought this was such a cute and fast story about unlikely queer love between a skeptic and a dreamer.

This was a cheesefest (trigger warning for harry potter references) but I liked both of the main characters and bought into them falling for each other. Darcy's mom was so annoying and insufferable that I almost considered dropping a star for my rating but the cute gay shit makes up for it. The third act conflict was. . . fine? It was semi believable and I empathized with both of them, but still a bit annoying.

Also did Darcy every pass her exam and get her FSA????? The book NEVER tells us??????????
