Not as good as the first, and I actually HATED the last issue. The date with Scott Lang was patronizing and weird as was the Luke Cage stuff. Will still be checking out volume 3 at some point...

Alias: Jessica Jones Vol. 2 is a 2015 MAX publication.

Jessica is summoned to upstate New York to search for a missing teen, rumored to be a mutant. The girl’s father appears to be the most likely suspect, but the bias against mutants could have played a role in the girl’s disappearance.

There is a little thinly veiled allegory in this story, with a solid mystery to solve. Jessica’s behavior is a bit more erratic than usual, which complicates things more than they already are.

For some reason this only made me like the story more. This second installment was also more blunt and bare bones, and it lacked some of the polish of the first installment.

Yet, in this case the lack of flair is more of a positive, than a negative, as it sets the tone for a more traditional detective story.

Later, Jessica and Luke Cage have a heated discussion and then Jessica goes out with Antman and I really loved that part!!

Overall a very solid collection in the Jessica Jones saga! Really looking forward to the next one.

Jessica Jones: Alias Vol. 2 covers a missing person case in which Jones is hired to find out what happened to a teenage girl who disappeared from a small town. Upon investigating, Jones finds that there were rumors that the girl might have been a mutant. After a visit to the Westboro-like anti-mutant local church, Jones suspects more to the story. After dealing with the fallout from that story, we're introduced to Scott Lang, former felon and Ant-Man. Doc Ock and Spidey make an awkward cameo.

What I liked about this volume were the critiques of the small town in NY where the local church preaches hate for mutants, other religions and people of color. I never realized that comics could explore these topics and that, as such, they might provide an outlet for the oppressed or ostracized. Plus, Ant-Man.

The plot wasn't as confusing as the first volume but I didn't enjoy it or like it.
