I loved the emails, the family and found family relationships, all of the book talk, and the personal growth in this book. It felt similar to Talia Hibbert's Brown sister books but with a bit less steam. I'll definitely read more from this author and series.

Let me start off with that I'm a huge fan of the online friendship/crush trope. The mystery of who the other person is, the sharing of so much of yourself, the fear when communication suddenly gets cut off, the pining to meet but also the desperation to keep the relationship as is*chef's kiss!* So thus I naturally drawn to this book! In this case, it's more one-sided anonymous with one using a pen name than the usual case but the relationship between the two main characters is so sweet in their emails!

I really liked both main characters, relating to both of them in ways. And it's so heart warming to see them encourage one another and help the other embrace their dreams!

That being said, the instant physical attraction they have is a bit much for me. Makes for some steamy romance later on, but that's not always my cup of tea.

Overall, great story here!

A decent read. Rated higher than a 3.5 because I really like this type of romance (where they a character doesn’t know that they know each other), but it isn’t quite a 4 star read for me because it felt like some of the content was rushed (I understand that Lily and Nick actually know each other—without realizing it—so they have a connection but my gosh… I felt like it happened SO fast), I don’t love sexual bits, and the plot was predictable (but again, I love this trope).

I really enjoyed this book! The concept was super cute and all the characters were very lovable. I love reading romance books where the main character is a book lover. Lily and Nick were an absolutely darling couple that I was rooting for the entire time. The ending/epilogue was a little less believable for me than the rest of the book, but other than that I enjoyed it!

The book is very different from the books that I’ve been reading recently, so that was definitely a breath of fresh air. And though I did enjoy the book, I think I’m definitely no longer their target audience. Which is fine. It’s just interesting to see a genre that I had previously inhaled become slightly redundant. I enjoyed the book, but I don’t see it being a re-read.
