I liked the premise of the book, but Chloe frustrated me to no end. Everything that happened in the book was one red flag after another and she just willingly ignored them – not that she was naive enough to not know them but that she just wrote every one of them off. And then she had the audacity to be upset about everything once she discovered the truth.

And when she wasn't leading the parade of red flags, she was so obnoxiously emotional. Every emotion she felt was the strongest emotion possible in that moment. The number of times she completely lost her mind in anger or had snot pouring out of her nose while crying in situations that deserved neither response. I don't even think I would have related to her character even when I was an overly emotional teenager.

If you are a sucker for K-Dramas like I am, you will definitely like this book. It's a lighthearted, yet emotional YA novel about a young woman trying to connect with her roots. Visiting her relatives in Korea for the first time, the MC learns some important lessons about what truly makes someone family. This is a quick and easy read that is not only enjoyable, but a reminder to appreciate our loved ones.
