Second chance romance, only one bed, possessive hero and spice sprinkled throughout... what more can you ask for in a book?
I'd been in a bit of a reading slump, and this book instantly hooked me and brought me back to reading! The story starts out with a bit of forced proximity, catapulting into Jules, a witch, and Ruben, a vampire, figuring out their relationship after 12 years have passed since they were together. Both of them go on a road trip to advocate for supernatural prejudice to be righted, and Jules even faces some sexism along the way. There is NOTHING I enjoy more than a powerful woman, or witch, standing up and holding their own when the odds are stacked against them. The story they uncover on their trip will keep you at the edge of your seat.
But my favorite part of the whole book is that the conflict isn't their relationship, but an outside source within the storyline. I find so many romance books just create a problem between the main characters, and it is such a breathe of fresh air to see our big moment being ANYTHING else.
Make sure to add this book and the rest of the series to your TBR immediately!

Maybe the buildup throughout the series got to me with this one but lowkey it was very sweet if a bit insta-lovey if you haven’t read the other books

4.5 stars!!!
JULES AND RUBEN ARE SOO PERFECT!! They are the epitome of a sexy power couple and their development from when they first started dating in the past to the present is so well-written!!! Their break up the first time was for a very valid reason and the way they come back to each other had my heart melting!
