I was convinced this would be a 5 star read, but the ending was very much not what I expected or wanted. Still, overall a really thought-provoking fable.

i loved the prose and the book’s general introspective philosophical lean. however it sets up a lot of plot points and questions that it doesn’t care to address or answer. i might have been more on board with this if the ending hadn’t felt so abrupt and tacked on.
