I thought I would love this book but the ableism was so strong I couldn’t finish it.

I am going to have to read this one again and come back to it at a later date. This is a good one. One that deserves a re-read.

There are some good reminders and maybe even a few gems hidden in The Happiness Equation (especially the retirement section), however it all seems to be covered in a very superficial manner. This was exacerbated by the author reading the audio himself with exaggerated enthusiasm for EVERYTHING. At times I felt like I was listening to a toddler storytime. Read in print.

Good book to give to a recent graduate or high schooler.

Good audio book.
Simplified into 9 memorable principles which are doable and well explained.
It helps that Neil referenced a lot of research in defense of a point or to explain the origin of a particular concept.
I liked the book a lot and would highly recommend it

I feel like the first bit was about happiness, then it turned into motivation and tine management type stuff. I'll need to re-look at it in person I think.

The last books on happiness didn‘t resonate, catch my attention or inspire me. This one was different. Very easy to read. Just the right balance of stories. Clear and straightforward concepts illustrated without taking them too seriously. Thoughts, quotes, mindsets to draw on and take back to life. I could see myself reading it again next year as a refresher.
