The concepts in this book are easy to grasp and are only mildly repetitive. I think overall the concepts are relevant and powerful enough to make a difference in my life.
This was a good one. 3.5 so I rounded up. I thought I would hate this book but it surprised me! I did it with a book club. Highly recommend reading this with a group or partner and having a journal for notes. I didn't necessarily believe that everyone can follow the recipe and be happy. There was a lot of privilege assumed, but many who grab for this book will be people like me, who enjoy some level of Western "privilege". So there is plenty to take from it if you are willing to leave what's not for you behind and keep reading.
This is one of those books that if you need the advice within the book, it's fantastic. If you don't, don't bother.
I found it incredibly helpful and encouraging at a time in my life where I'm struggling with balance, growth, and in a reflective state of mind.
Having said this, like a lot of personal development books, it touches on a lot of different key concepts without going into too many details. I almost wish the book focused on 2 of these and gave us more. Knowing why something works is great, but learning how to implement it is just as important.
Either way, I've already passed it onto the next person who I know needs to read it too.

I love this book. I need to go buy my own copy so I can refer to it as needed. Great insight on our actions and choices and how to be happier.

reflective
fast-paced
I feel like this book should be a memoir more than a "self help" book.
As a mental health professional I really struggle with the book category of self-help when many books put into this category read like a memoir. I wish there was a section called "life management" for books like this.
Also, this book and others like it read through a lens of ableism.

Though lightly written and fun, it contains some good reminders.
Quick, simple read. Kept ideas concise and to the point. A lot of the points seemed like good reminders rather than new information but still offered good ideas to reflect on and encorporate into daily life.
It was more of the fluffy side than I was expecting. Nice, happy, positive......but really basic.
