This is a hard-hitting collection that explores themes of identity and sexuality, and what it means to be genderqueer and gay in a society that wants you to fit into a neat box. A few of the poems were meh, but 98% of them were fantastic. McNaugher's language is fresh and piercing and sometimes totally unexpected. This is a good collection to return to, to savor each word on your tongue, roll the meanings around, and think about your own identity.
