MAGNIFICENT. EXHILARATING. STUNNING.

I read a lot of bad reviews for this and it makes zero sense to me.

This was so good!!! The characters were absolutely amazing, 3d and so refreshing.

The world was so unique and easy to absorb. And the romance was chefs kiss.

Give me the second book now.

So I just finished this book and I was actually very pleased with all the themes and events. It was the perfect mixture of dark without putting you into an anxiety attack over the characters. But still gave you the sense of urgency and fear the book required! Beautiful writing! Very cool world building that just throws you in and lets you explore it with characters who know what’s going on! No info dumbs required!

The only reason I didn’t rate this at a five star is because there were some points that lowered the rating for me. But these are all themes that I just personally don’t jive with. I will definitely be reading the second one <3 and I recommended it to anyone looking for something dark and gritty but still fun and hopeful.

I think my decision to read this via audiobook was not the right one. It was good but the pacing felt so slow and there were a lot of details I missed in the audiobook and struggled to figure out. I think I’m going to read the physical book for book 2.
